Health benefits of cold therapy for the hand, elbow, shoulder, knee, and foot.

Cold therapy is a healing technique that exposes the body to cold temperatures for several minutes. The cold therapy helps muscles recover after strenuous activity, injury, or surgical procedures. By reducing blood flow to the targeted area for a short period of time, the therapy can lessen inflammation, swelling and nerve activity, which in turn relieves pain around muscles, joints, and tendons

Studies show joint sprains treated with ice, heal three days faster than without cold therapy.

Cold therapy, known as RICE treatment for first aid in sporting injuries.  If used immediately after a sprain or strain and for up to 48 hours after injury, RICE therapy tends to get people back “on their feet” faster. Apply one of our IMAK Polar Ice (Cold Therapy) for up to 20 minutes every two to four hours.  When your skin starts to feel numb, it’s time to give your body a break from a cold pack.
